COMMON QUESTIONS
Prevalence is the number of persons affected by a health risk in the neighborhood. It is a simple measure of how many are affected within a 5-minute walk in the area. Prevalence is available for widespread health risks such as COVID-19, flu, RSV, allergies, and pollution.
Local Prevalence is graded as: LOW (< 5), MODERATE (5–15), HIGH (15–25), VERY HIGH (> 25). These ranges represent distinct risk profiles requiring different safety precautions — from no mitigation needed at LOW, to pervasive mitigation at VERY HIGH.
Hubbub World develops proprietary models on top of the underlying surveillance, environmental, and weather data to produce comparable risk scores across all U.S. counties. Each of the seven risks is reported on a four-point scale (Low, Moderate, High, Very High) so the scores are interpretable without needing the raw underlying numbers. The full methodology — including the modeling approach, validation against authoritative sources, and known limitations — is documented at hubbubworld.com/intelligence. The bub app has far greater breadth and depth of data. We are also adding additional health risks periodically to the app. bub+ subscription provides forecasts, charts and maps for health risks.
