COVID-19
This week marked the inflection of COVID prevalence, which had been decreasing secularly across all states for the past 3 weeks, to varying increases across several states.
Prevalence increased this past week in half the states across the country.
Northeast
📍 New York (highest increase)
📍 Connecticut
📍 New Jersey
📍 Maryland
📍 Massachusetts
📍 Pennsylvania
📍 Rhode Island
Midwest
📍 Indiana
📍 Kansas
📍 Michigan
📍 Nebraska
📍 Ohio
📍 Wisconsin
Southeast
📍 North Carolina
📍 South Carolina
📍 Georgia
📍 Florida
📍 Louisiana
📍 Alabama
📍 Mississippi
📍 Tennessee
West
📍 Alaska
📍 California
📍 Hawaii
📍 Nevada
Other states continued to decline in prevalence this week.
In the coming weeks, we can expect prevalence to trend marginally up or down before settling into a secular increasing trend across all states in mid-November marking start of the Winter wave.
With the delayed start of the Summer wave this year, prevalence continues to be high in almost all metro areas even as we are on the verge of the start of the Winter wave.
Remember, high prevalence means adequate safety precautions both in the form of vaccines – where there are 3 options widely available now – and adequate air quality using masks and ventilation/purification.
Flu
States with high and increasing Flu prevalence:
📈 DC at up to 21 /area
📈 Maryland – Baltimore at up to 12 /area
Flu prevalence is decreasing after a brisk start in many states:
📉 California – SF at 8 /area and LA at 4 /area
📉 Louisiana – New Orleans at 3 /area
📉 Alabama – Birmingham at 2 /area
📉 Arizona – Phoenix at 2 /area
Prevalence is still low almost everywhere and not trending steadily anywhere, though the cooling temperatures should accelerate the uptick once it picks up pace.
Consult with your physician on getting the flu shot.
RSV
States with very high RSV prevalence:
♦️ Louisiana with New Orleans at up to 85 /area
♦️ Florida with Miami at up to 73 /area
♦️ Georgia with Atlanta at up to 53 /area
♦️ Texas with Houston at up to 51 /area
However, most states are showing a slowing down of the increase in prevalence with a few states showing a decline.
Bringing the Community to Health Safety

Every day we spend much of our time in our homes with our family, but we also spend considerable time at work or at school and to a lesser extent with friends.
Together these four groups constitute the most significant portion of one's community and hence one's exposure risk. Ensuring one's health safety means ensuring the health safety of everyone in the community. Hence, Hubbub is introducing the ability to add all members of your community to provide a comprehensive and convenient Community Risk solution.
